Nutella is quite possibly my favorite chocolatey thing in the world. I’ve used it in a few recipes on the blog but, let’s be honest, it’s just plain awesome by itself. This recipe is yet another ode to Nutella. Chocolate chip cookies flavored with Nutella plus more Nutella sandwiched between them. Yum! Since we’ve already done a brief history of Nutella, this post will carry on the theme with @##$$ other delicious recipes using Nutella.
First off, the title recipe Nutella Chip Cookie Sandwiches!
Nutella Chip Cookie Sandwiches
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1/2 cup chocolate-hazelnut spread, such as Nutella®
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup additional Nutella for filling
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Whisk together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt.
In separate bowl, cream butter and sugars.
Add Nutella and vanilla.
Combine flour mixture with butter mixture.
Fold in chocolate chips.
Drop by tablespoon onto parchment-lined baking sheet.
Bake 8-10 minutes or until center is set.
Remove to wire rack to cool.
Spread additional Nutella between 2 cooled cookies.
