This fun bread machine recipe uses puffed rice cereal to achieve a pleasantly air bubbly texture. A subtle peanut butter flavor means this isn’t your typical loaf! Serve with a homemade chocolate peanut butter spread and your favor jam or use for lunchmeat sandwiches.

Airy Peanut Butter Bread with Homemade Reese’s Spread

  • Servings: 10-12 slices bread and 1 cup spread
  • Time: 15 minutes plus machine run time

Ingredients:

Bread:

8 ounces water

1 ½ teaspoons salt

2 tablespoons honey

4 tablespoons creamy peanut butter

½ cup Rice Krispies cereal

1 ½ tablespoons oat bran (You can also sub oats or ground flax.)

1 ¾ teaspoons active dry yeast

Reese’s Spread:

1 cup creamy peanut butter

1/3 cup cocoa powder

2 tablespoons chocolate chips, melted

1 tablespoon honey

Directions:

*with 1 ½ cup capacity bread machine

Bread:

Measure all ingredients into bread pan, in listed order.

Run on Basic setting. (3 hours for my machine.)

When cycle finishes, allow to sit in pan for a couple minutes and then remove.

Reese’s Spread:

Combine all ingredients and mix until smooth.

Serve with bread.
