I’ve baked the last of my classic candy-inspired Christmas cookies! Here is the full listing of recipes. Links to each recipe are below each picture.
It can be annoying to package up cookies for gifts. Do you just pile them on a plate you’re not that attached to and wrap with plastic? Do you load them in a Ziploc bag and hope they don’t break apart? Holiday-themed containers can be pricey and the reason I give food gifts is because I’m too poor for pricey! I’m a starving college student!
I packaged this year’s cookies two different ways. For some, I used round metal tins that I purchased from thrift stores for about fifty cents each. Thrift stores are a great place to go for holiday home décor and reusable packaging for gifts, such as tins or baskets. Just make sure to clean them thoroughly. One of my tins still had leftover cookie crumbs in it! I placed a piece of parchment on the bottom of the tin and between each layer of cookies.
For the rest of my cookies, I used cheap fold-out cardboard boxes in festive prints. I placed each type of cookie flat in Christmas-colored Ziploc bags and labeled them. Then I placed the bags inside my prepared boxes so that the labels are clearly visible when the box is first opened. Recipients will know exactly what kind of cookies they’re getting without having to dig through the contents of the box. I also throw some other goodies in there!
