  • Time: 1 hour and 45 minutes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Print

8 oz shea and argan soap (You can sub any kind of unscented soap plus 3 tablespoons shea butter and 1 tablespoon argan oil, if you have it. You could also just use the soap by itself.)

2 oz water

1 tablespoon dried honeybush

30 drops sweet orange essential oil

10 drops clove essential oil

Prepare the mold. You may use silicone molds or any container lined with parchment paper. If using parchment paper, smooth out all creases and leave an overhang.

(To make the Christmas tree, I waited until the soap mixture cooled and firmed up to a consistency similar to modelling clay. Then I molded it by hand. Obviously, it would be much easier to use a tree-shaped mold though!)

Grate soap bars with a cheese grater.

Place in microwave safe bowl.

Mix in water.

Microwave in 20-30 second intervals, stirring in between, until melted. This will take 2-3 minutes. It will be creamy, not liquid.

Once melted, add honeybush and oils.

Spoon mixture into mold.

Place molds in freezer for 1 hour or let sit at room temperature overnight.

Remove from molds and cut/break into pieces, if necessary.
