This smoky, sweet yogurt blend is perfect as a healthy, filling breakfast or for tricking yourself into thinking you’re having a decadent dessert. Matcha and 5 spice are two of my favorite dessert ingredients. I discovered them only in the past couple years after developing an interest in sushi and other Asian cuisine.
By the way, this faux pudding is also a yummy follow-up to a plate of sushi!
Matcha 5 Spice ‘Pudding’
1 cup plain, nonfat Greek yogurt (sub soy or coconut yogurt for vegan option)
1 ½ tablespoons honey (sub agave nectar for vegan option)
1 teaspoon matcha
¼ teaspoon Chinese five spice powder
1 tablespoon white chocolate chips (omit or sub nondairy white chocolate, such as VeganSweets)
Mix all ingredients until smooth.
Microwave for 10 seconds and stir. Repeat 3 more times, for a total of 40 seconds.
*If you prefer a cold pudding, mix all ingredients except the chips. Then melt the chips and quickly stir them into the other ingredients.
