As the weather gets cooler my lips and the surrounding skin begin to get dry and flaky. Not exactly kissable. I used to just slather lotion, Vaseline, oils and whatever all over my mouth and hope for the best. Fortunately, last winter, I read an article about a DIY lip facial in Good Housekeeping magazine. It really works! And, the best part is, it’s totally natural, edible and kind of delicious. I’ve modified the measurements somewhat below because the original made way too much for just one use.
Pucker Up Buttercup Lip Facial
½ teaspoon brown sugar
½ teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
½ teaspoon plain Greek yogurt
¼ teaspoon honey
Organic coconut oil or Vaseline Crème Brûlée Lip Therapy
Mix sugar and oil. Scrub over lips in circles for 30 seconds. Wipe off with a warm cloth.
Mix yogurt and honey. Apply to lips and let sit for 5 minutes. Wipe off with warm cloth.
Apply warm coconut oil or Vaseline.
