Winter time weather is on the way and you know what that means… Winter skin! Yay! Not. Cold weather and strong winds can really mess with your skin so it’s important to add a few steps to your skin care routine. I have very sensitive skin prone to dryness and eczema so I have a lot of trouble finding the right products for my skin. My skin randomly breaks out for no reason at all so I definitely don’t want to tempt fate by using a fragrance and chemical heavy product. I put together this all natural, yummy-smelling lavender sugar scrub that exfoliates without irritating my delicate skin. I recommend using this scrub to buff off dry flaky skin once a week. Follow that up with a Shea butter soap and a heavy body cream and you’ll have soft, warm weather skin year round!
LavaMe Lavender Sugar Scrub
1 cup packed light brown sugar
2 tablespoons dried lavender and chamomile flowers (You can generally find this as an herbal tea blend. Just cut open 2 tea bags.)
2 tablespoons pure fragrance-free jojoba oil
15-20 drops pure lavender essential oil
Combine sugar and flowers first, breaking up any large chunks of sugar.
Add jojoba oil 1 tablespoon at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Add lavender oil 5 drops at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Store in tightly sealed glass jar or plastic container.
Apply scrub all over body or just on dry areas, avoiding contact with the face or eyes. Rinse off. Wash and moisturize as usual. Stop use if irritation occurs.
